Thank you, that will be all gentlemen. Monday mornings were reserved for team meetings. She is currently overseeing 12 projects simultaneously. Getting to this level in her career has been nothing short of a miracle but nevertheless, she is humbled and grateful. Brilliant and ambitious, she attended the second-highest-ranked university in the nation for Interior Design. Passing on the #1 university was a strategic decision. She wanted to leave the possibility of a double major on the table and Bingham University was ranked highest in overall academic programs.
Since childhood, she aspired to be the infamous Megan Hess of Interior Design. Her passion for transforming a dull, boring space into a useful, beautiful work of art was inspiring. After completing her freshman year of college, she decided to spend her Summer interning for a small construction company near campus. She chose to stay local instead of returning home to give herself more time for on-the-job training. She was always driven by learning and over time, she noticed that knowledge gave her leverage. Her boss said her resume was impressive which is why he extended her the offer to intern for him but in a mostly male dominated profession, he didn’t put much stock in her abilities. He assigned her to the company’s smallest construction project but naturally, she was unfazed. She was actually quite happy about it. She figured, a smaller project would require her to do more thus she’d learn more.
The project foreman was very nice to her and didn’t seem to be overly concerned with her gender. He’d ask her opinion and explain in great detail the decisions he made. Most of her time was spent in buildings and she became very intrigued by the varying architectural components. The end of Summer came too quickly and although she had to return to her studies, she did so happily, knowing that she had been asked to return next Summer. Her experiences for the past three months gave her perspectives that she hadn’t really considered before. With a new desire to explore the sustainability of interior materials and the history of architectural design, she switched her concentration to Interior Architecture & Design and added a double major in Civil Engineering.
After graduating with not one, but two Bachelors of Science degrees and a 3.98 GPA, she was undoubtedly highly sought after. The construction company she interned for throughout college extended her a persuasive job offer but she turned it down. She knew that her unique background and depth of experience would provide opportunities to work for some of the most renown Architecture corporations. After several years of resume building and gaining recognition in her industry, she was still being passed up for larger jobs that she indisputably deserved. With a diverse, expansive, and successful portfolio, she decided to build her own Architecture & Design Firm from the ground up. With a reputation of excellence, she knew that she was capable of rapidly expanding her employee base and winning larger bids.
